I wanted to post this circuit training workout I have been experimenting with for you to try. You probably know I like to mix things up alot. So I decided to combine weight training, body weight and kettlebell exercises for this circuit training workout. One day I just felt like doing something different than my usual circuit training so I juststarted doing this on the fly one day. It is a 6 exercise circuit using 2 barbell, 2 bodyweight and 2 kettlebell exercises. 1) Barbell Clean 2) Push-ups (feet elevated) 3) Kettlebell Snatches 4) Barbell Front Squat and Press 5) Mountain Climbers 6) Kettlebell Clean and Press As usual I do them as a timed set. Set the timer for 20 minutes. I have kept the reps to 6 per exercise. As usual don’t use too heavy of a weight. No rest between exercises. Rest as little as possible between each circuit. I have been doing this circuit training workout twice a week on my off days. Remember the key to any workout being effective is progression, everytime you do your workouts try to do a little more than last time. Well that’s it for today. Give this circuit training [...]

You’re already aware that doing endless crunches or situps will NEVER get you six-pack abs, right? Let’s understand why and how Kettlebell training can help you get a 6-pack that works. One of the many functions of your abdominals is to stabilize your spine and torso – to hold you upright, not allowing your torso to collapse. That said, by swinging, snatching or doing any Kettlebell exercises where your center of gravity is being moved around, you are using your abs to resist rotation or any excessive lateral flexion (bending sideways). Doing this forces your abs to contract or brace and protects your very sensitive lower back area forcing your abs to not only work the way they were meant to work, but doing it at every conceivable angle. Kettlebell training is interval training “on steroids”. Interval training, usually done at the end of a workout, involves bouts of high intensity exercise (sprinting, bodyweight circuits, complexes, etc) followed by recovery periods. Research has shown that training of this type creates an amazing fat burning response and will spare your hard-earned muscle. Traditional Kettlebell training usually involves doing a series of full body exercises and movements continuously without any rest until [...]
